Ridhi is a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a dreamer, a disruptor, and a deeply feeling person. She was born and raised in India and came to the U.S. to pursue her passion for mental health, with the hope for better education and opportunities. As a desi (South Asian) immigrant working across cultural and ethnic borders, Ridhi is constantly learning how to navigate liminality. She is passionate about decolonizing the field of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis; and believes “some truths in our field never get named, the non-negotiable truths: that our field has been colonial, racist, heteronormative, ableist, and sexist.”
Ridhi’s approach to therapy and healing is rooted in the understanding that our experiences with systems of power and oppression, as well as the space we have to hold our pain, can deeply impact our connection to ourselves, our bodies, and our communities. Her work is grounded in the recognition that privilege, power, and structural and systemic injustice are interwoven into our life experiences. Ridhi believes that part of our work together involves interrupting these cycles of oppression by becoming aware of their impacts and healing from them. Oppressive structures often insidiously infiltrate our minds, bodies, and psyches, implanting themselves as truths and norms. Having a holistic understanding of well-being is essential in supporting liberation within ourselves through the healing of our pain and trauma. This, in turn, equips us to work toward liberation in our society, including efforts to shift oppressive systems.
Ridhi’s therapy style is highly relational, loving, intuitive, and informed by the ongoing impacts of systemic trauma on mental health. She draws from her own intuition, lived experiences, and the voices of ancestors, teachers, and dear colleagues. Ridhi rejects the notion that the therapist is the sole expert in the room, and encourages individuals to recognize themselves as the experts of their own lives. Ridhi believes there is a deep inner wisdom within each of us; and her goal is to provide your psyche with attentive loving-kindness, gentle guidance, and a safe container for your healing to unfold.
Ridhi commits to offering a foundational, genuine, and meaningful relationship for her clients that can support your continuous growth. She’s here to facilitate the cultivation of vital connections with yourself, the world, your purpose, your vision, your actions, your ancestors, and your community.
“We’re in this together!”
